Baptism over 4th of July Weekend

Great Grandpa and Grandma Sohl
4th of July weekend was filled with wonderful family time celebrating Camden's Baptism and Avery's 1st birthday. While pastor Molly was holding Camden and baptizing her, she let out the biggest "rumble" from down under! Luckily there were no  remnants of this wonderful deed on pastor Molly's clothes! It was all Blake and I could do to refrain from laughing aloud during the service.

Camden's Milestones

Camden hopefully will look back someday at this blog and all the pictures we have taken, and realize just how truly special and loved she is. I wish I could post every picture of my little girl, but some might view that as overkill! Hey, what can I say. I am an extremely proud new mother!
Not only is Camden growing and changing physically every day, she is learning new things and developing a routine. We were very thankful that she began sleeping 6-7 hour intervals at night when she was just 6 1/2 weeks old! Hallelujah! Gammy got her to smile several times in a row at about 7 weeks old. I am not quite convinced it wasn't still gas related smiles at that point (shhh....don't tell Gammy), as it took her another week or 2 to reproduce those smiles regularly! By 8 weeks, Cam became more content hanging out by herself. I think this was more difficult for Blake and I as we couldn't grasp the concept of not holding her all the time! Nonetheless, we all 3 learned that some "space" occasionally was a good thing.

First Trip

Cam's first trip was to Wichita on June 9th to watch cousin Aubrey's dance recital. On the way, we stopped in Derby to see Great Grandpa and Grandma Siemens. Camden was able to meet Great Aunt's Greta, Kay and LeeAnn and Great Uncle Dan.

Meeting my Great Aunt Greta

We spent most of the weekend with the Iles side. Camden met her Aunt Tori and cousin Avery, Aunt Maranda, Uncle Chad and cousins Aubrey and Zane. This was the first time Nana had all 4 of her grandkids in the same place at the same time (and we failed to get a picture of this!)

Girl Time

On June 8th, Gammy, Aunt Cas, Camden and I went to the Princess Diana Exhibit at Union Station. This was special to me as my mother watched the wedding of Princess Diana and Charles almost 30 years ago when she was pregnant with me. It seemed only fitting that the timing of Prince William and Kate's wedding occurred while I was pregnant with Camden. It was a fun girls outing!

Picture time

Camden had her newborn pictures taken on June 2nd. This little girl did not want to miss a single second of her photo shoot. The only way we could capture some "sleeping baby" pictures was to turn on the vacuum and let it run the rest of the session! Here are a few of my favorites:

Family Time

During the week of May 16th, Camden met several special people. Great Grandpa and Grandma Sohl, and Aunt Rachel and 2nd cousin Ben came to Kansas City to visit. We spent one night hanging out at Uncle Tim and Aunt Sheila's visiting with all the family.

Family time continued as she met Great Grandpa and Grandma Siemens, Great Grandpa and Grandma Wedel, and 2nd cousins Preston and Makenzie. It didn't take long for this little girl to grow accustomed to being held!

Meeting Nana and Papa

Blake's parents (Nana and Papa) came to meet Camden over the weekend (May 13th-15th). They both spent lots of time holding her and figuring out who she looks like. The consensus: she looks like her mama! :)
